Humanity in the Ghettos

The virtual exhibition “Humanity in the Ghettos” is one of three new, interactive, interesting and Educating exhibition of Moreshet.

How did the reality in the Ghetto effected the people who living there? What challenges di it create for them? Do opportunities manifest themselves to? If so, in what form? How did the children and teenagers handle this reality?  Where and how could the Ghetto inhabitants “choose”? what made different people choose one way or another? What lead people in their choices during that difficult time? What is the meaning of ” having a choice”  for a human being? What can we learn from that time about our lives today?

Through encounters with people’s dilemmas we’ll learn about the reality in the Ghettos and the living conditions inside. Well get to know different ways of operation that helped the people deal with that reality. We’ll ask what is the role of a leader in that complex reality and how the different “Judenrat” heads chose to act in different several Ghettos. We’ll be aquatinted with the stories of men and woman that succeed in maintaining their humanity in the Ghettos and we’ll focus on those that choose to bravely protect the humanity in people as a way to resist – to create, to write, to dream and show solidarity in that time. All of that through journals episodes, poems, photographs and other activities.
