About the Journal<\/h1>\n

Moreshet Journal: for the Study of the Holocaust and Antisemitism<\/strong> is a peer-reviewed journal.<\/p>\n

“Moreshet \u2013 Mordechai Anielevich Memorial Holocaust Study and Research Center” was established in November 1961, and among its goals, it was decided to found a semi-annual journal for the publication of research and testimonies on the Holocaust. The first issue of the Moreshet Journal for Holocaust Research<\/strong> was published in November 1963, two years after the establishment of Moreshet as an institution dedicated to documentation, research, education, and commemoration of the Holocaust. It is the first journal of its kind in Israel and the world to be published continuously from then until today.<\/p>\n

Moreshet Journal serves as a central platform for innovative, source-based research in the fields of antisemitism, World War II, the Holocaust, and Holocaust memory. The journal accepts articles based on a wide range of approaches and methodologies, encouraging interdisciplinary research that combines history, sociology, political science, cultural studies, psychology, education, law, literature, art, and other fields.<\/p>\n

History of the Journal<\/h2>\n

Among the founders of Moreshet Journal for Holocaust Research are the late Prof. Israel Gutman, the late poet and partisan Abba Kovner, the late Dr. Shalom Cholawsky, and the late Prof. Yehuda Bauer. Over the years, they were joined on the editorial board by the late Rozka Korczak, the late Akiva Nir, the late Dr. Esti Webman, the late Chaika Grossman, and the late Yehuda Tubin.<\/p>\n

The late Dr. Ariel Hurwitz continued the founders’ path and served as editor for thirteen years. During his tenure, an annual English edition also began publication. Since its founding year, the journal has been published continuously; in its early years, it came out twice a year, and over time it began to be published once a year in Hebrew and once a year in English, thus becoming an esteemed bilingual journal with an international standing.<\/p>\n

Since 2011, Tel Aviv University, under the leadership of Prof. Dina Porat, head of the Alfred P. Slaner Chair for the Study of Antisemitism and Racism, has supported the journal. With the establishment of the new editorial board, an important layer of academicization was added, and the word “and Antisemitism” was added to its title. Since then, the journal has been named Moreshet Journal: for the Study of the Holocaust and Antisemitism<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
