The Exemplary Figures project is meant to bring to students,teachers and the general public  the story of two men and two women that were active in the Warsaw Ghetto and deeply influenced it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four figures were selected for this project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mordechai Anielevich, Stefa Wilczynska, Tosia Altman, Imanuel Ringelblum.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 15 minute video was dedicated to each of these figures, a video that presents their main courses of action during the Holocaoust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the videos, we offer school teachers and educators in youth movements an accompanying  workshop that we built  for you. The workshop deals with these figures’ story and includes also the story of David (Yurek) Plonski, a smuggler teen in the Warsaw Ghetto that took a part in the Warsaw ghetto uprising and after surviving the uprising lived with a fake identity in the Aryanside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop is suited to middle and high school students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mordechai Anielevich<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A member of Hashomer Hatzair movement. Anielevich was best known as the commander of the Jewish Combat Organization and Warsaw GhettoUprising But actually, he was very active even before the fighting and uprising took place. There is a reason he was the only youth movement member to be awarded a full article from Imanuel Ringelblum dedicated just about him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefa Wilczynska<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An orphanage manager in Warsaw before the war and in the Ghetto. A lot of people know the story of Janusz Korczak while Wilczynska\u2019s story didn\u2019t get the proper publicity. In recent years wilczynska did get more acknowledgment from history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tosia Altman<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A member of Hashomer Hatzair leadership during the war and the one that reestablished the movement\u2019s activity throughout Poland after destruction caused by the outbreak of WWII. Altman was a leading member of the Jewish combat organization and its emissary in the Aryanside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imanuel Ringelblum<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Historian and the leftisit Poale Zion party member. He was the founder of the  “Oneg Shabat” archive and the living soul of this unprecedented documentation project. Also Ringelblum was active in the social welfare field and stood in the head of the self help project in the  Warsaw Ghetto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
