About the exhibition

The exhibition motto is the saying of Ghetto Warsaw Historian Emanuel Ringelblum “The Jewish woman had written a magnificent page in this war…”. The exhibition is part of Moreshet’s fundamental ethical – educational values. Throughout history women’s voice and place was diminished to the point of almost being left out entierly. What’s unique about this exhibition is the prominence it puts on the braveness of women and their reverberated voice which decided to act during times of horror.

The exhibition “A Face to Resistance: Women in the Holocaust” displays the important role of women during the holocaust and world war II. It brings the life and stories of dozens of women – Jewish and non-Jewish, mothers and fighters, underground members, saviors and Righteous Among Nations. A few examples of the subjects discussed in the exhibition are: women’s life in the Ghettos and Camps, women fighters in the uprisings, in the youth movements and the Partisans.
